Finishing

As well as having the facilities to build a wide range of different products, Traditional Windows and Joinery have a fantastic finishing department, together with a team of experienced Sprayers and Finishers. We have created an almost dust free spray shop, drying area and wrapping area in our workshop, meaning all of our finishes are of the highest standard, and under close inspection by our quality control.

We are able to create a wide range of finishes from smooth spray finished furniture with a coloured paint, to a clear lacquer on the more finer choices of timber. For the more traditional finishes we offer Danish oil finishes or French polished finishes.

We also offer a primed only option for clients who would prefer a hand painted finish on site; are aim to cater for everyone's needs.

Specialist Finishes

With our windows and external joinery products we use a specialist paint company called Teknos, who have spent many years developing their external joinery range, creating a fantastic choice of block colours and UV protected stains for any external joinery products. This allows us to supply our clients with almost any finish or colour that might be required for the project.

We believe in Teknos' paints and finishes, and what we can achieve with them and the durability means that our clients can rest assured that the  investment in our joinery product will last for many years to come, requiring little maintenance. We offer a 10 year guarantee against having to re-coat the external joinery within that time period,

Timber

Traditional Windows and Joinery pride ourselves on sourcing our timber from the most sustainable resources and endeavour to stay abreast with the latest technologies in timber preservation and sustainability. It remains important to us to ensure we can provide you with the highest quality timber products while leaving a minimal carbon footprint and having little impact to the natural world. We will exclusively use timber and timber suppliers which are FSC approved.

​We use a wide range of timbers, from the more common timbers available in the market such as European Oak, Scandinavian Red Wood and Walnut, to the more exotic timbers such as Wench, Hondures and Cocobola. We are able to adapt to using any timber that our clients wish for, and that may be available..

Accoya

One of our favourite products  to work with, and one which is becoming more and more popular is Accoya. Working with Accoya has enabled us to overcome many of the reservations of using timber for external joinery, dealing with issues such as rot expansion and shrinkage movement, - it has completely extinguished the less positive points of investing in a timber product. With advanced technology and years of testing they have developed a timber that has minimal movement and shrinkage, and one in which they have so much confidence, they are willing to offer a 50 year guarantee against all timber rot. These are just a few benefits of its functionality. 

As well as Accoya we also use many other specialist timbers which have been used traditionally throughout the years , as long as they are available from our FSC approved forrestries or timber merchants.
